A business model strongly oriented to niche markets and suited to Made in Italy, with a historic tradition for sustainability
Val Seriana is the place where it all started. It still supplies us with the energy feeding our eco-sustainable factory, and where the people working with us live, with whom we have grown and improved in times.
The origin of the company date back to 1858 when Pasquale Pozzi built in Busto Arsizio the spinning and weaving mill “Pasquale Pozzi Filatura e Tessitura”. In 1889 the company acquired in Val Seriana some ruinous buildings, lands with a mill and the “water rights” of Serio River. A factory was built on the existing ruins, and modern spinning mills were installed. A residential area was created: houses for workers, a church, a boarding school later adapted to primary and nursery school and finally the oratory. The small village of Ponte Selva takes shape. After World War II the company continues its development, which culminates with the construction of a new spininng mill in Clusone.
Ever since the beginning a productive eco-system arises, where giving back to the community and respect for the enviroment are essential. A global support to the population, that has started a balanced and cumulative growth.
The entire production carried out in our factory in Clusone grants a global control on each phase.
We select raw materials – whether natural, artificial or synthetic – with extreme care, after touching and sorting them by the expert hands of technicians belonging to generations of skilled spinners. Thanks to our experience, we have established long-lasting and tested relationships with reliable partners.
We submit our machines to continuous technological updates, which go well beyond ordinary and extraordinary maintenance. These are innovations aimed to achieve biocompatibility at every stage of the production cycle, according to our company’s ethical commitment towards the environment and people. The yarn is, therefore, the result of a mechanical and non-chemical process, in which our company invests in quality rather than in mass production, increasing the flexibility of each individual machinery.
In our production process, certifications grant the adherence of our company to an eco-friendly production model, aiming at reducing consumption and increasing the use of organic materials, produced according to ethical and sustainable criteria.
The certifications that we have obtained represent – like for everybody – a time and money investment, new forms of logistic and productive organization. However – consistently with an ethical production choice – we cannot ignore certifying our production system and today we can boast of GRS, BCI and GOTS certifications.
